Today, Hoss and Fluff visited their good friend out in Gobblers Knob, Punxsutawney Phil. Hoss and Phil shared a dorm room in college and have been good friends ever since. Phil has been speaking out on Hoss’s behalf to the local voting public in Pennsylvania for some time now, but it has recieved next to no media coverage. Phil knew the day to get the word out was today, because thousands of crazy hoomins watch as he is drug from his warm, cozy stump and held aloft while flash bulbs pop and cameras are rolling.

Hoss and the basset tour bus rolled into town the night before and they all got to spend some time together before the craziness began the next day. Phil had organized a wonderful party in Hoss’s honor and only select financial supporters were invited to the shindig. No party would be complete without an elvis impersonator singing “Ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog”, and Phil spared no expense… getting only the best elvis impersonator, Ryan Pelton to sing the legendary elvis song for Hoss. The biscuits and Perrier were flowing and they all passed out in the bus around 2 am.

Unfortunately for Phil, he gets his most unwelcome wake up call at 6 am sharp. Imagine the hoomins surprise to see a Vote Basset sign proudly displayed over Phils name plate on his stump as they went to retrieve their favorite rodent. With news cameras rolling and thousands of camera flashes popping, every eye was glued to Phil as he was hoisted up into the air before the crazed crowd. When he was asked if he saw his shadow, instead of saying yes or no, he cried out… VOTE BASSET!!

After the crowd settled down, Phil took center stage as he proclaimed himself a Meal Ticket supporter and appealed to the crowd to get on the bus and vote basset too!
